Day Centre

Our lunch club for elderly and disabled people runs over three days a week. We collect members from their homes in one of our two fully accessible minibuses, and arrive at the centre for around 10.30am. The day starts with a cup of tea and a biscuit, followed by a three course lunch at 12.15pm. In the afternoon we have a varied activities program, a cup of tea or coffee and a piece of cake, and leave on the minibuses from 3pm.

Opening Hours

Tuesday: 10.30am - 3.30pm

Wednesday: 10.30a, - 3.00pm

Thursday: 10.30am - 3.30pm

Each session costs £7.50, which includes morning and afternoon tea, a three course lunch, afternoon entertainments and transport if necessary.

Members can visit our tuck shop, which stocks a variety of chocolates and sweets, including some diabetic-friendly options, or visit our charity shop, where quality second-hand goods may be purchased.
An optional Tuesday Holy Communion service is offered, and a listening ear is always readily available.

Catering

Our food is cooked fresh by our chef, and we aim for it to be nutritionally balanced and healthy, providing at least 2 of the reccomended 5 portions of fruit and veg each day through the fresh vegetables and home made soups that we serve. Our food generally reflects British classics and favourites, and we have a roast once a week on alternating days.

We cater to all dietary requirements, including diabetics and allergies.

We aim to offer some form of entertainment most days. Regular activities include:

Bingo
Card games
Dominoes
Gentle exercise classes
Musical entertainment
Dancing entertainment
DVD's
Gentle use of our new Wii system
Computer classes
Hairdressing days
Massage sessions

In addition, we plan regular outings throughout the year, including shopping trips, seaside visits, park walks and more.
